Privacy policy

Tagly is a Shopify app that adds labels and badges to online stores. It is made by Tackwell Dev (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers merchants who install Tagly and shoppers who visit stores that use it.
Information we keep about merchants
When you install Tagly, Shopify gives the app access to your store. We store:
- Your store’s myshopify.com address, which identifies your data.
- The access tokens Shopify issues to the app, so it can work on your behalf. This includes a storefront token that lets the labels read product information in your store.
- What you create in Tagly: labels and badges, their text, translations, design settings, display rules, schedules and custom CSS. Images you use stay in your store’s Files on Shopify; we keep only their addresses.
- Which Tagly plan your store is on, and whether it installed during early access.
To show the editor, the app also reads your store’s languages, currency, time zone and the countries it ships to, and the titles of products and collections you pick. It uses these while you work and does not store them.
We don’t collect the names or email addresses of you or your staff, and we never see payment details: Shopify handles all billing.
Shoppers
Tagly does not collect personal information about the people who shop in your store, sets no cookies, and does not track shoppers.
Your published labels are saved in your store on Shopify, and Shopify includes them in your storefront pages. A small script then reads product details (such as price, tags and stock) straight from Shopify, and uses the country and language Shopify chose for the page to apply your rules and translations. Shoppers’ browsers never contact our servers, and none of this information is sent to us.
The script also checks one browser storage setting that turns on troubleshooting output; it stores nothing about the shopper.
How we use information
Only to run Tagly: to show your labels and badges, to let you edit them, to apply your plan, and to help you when you contact support. We don’t sell information, use it for advertising, or build profiles.
Who we share it with
Only with the services that run the app, and only what they need:
- Shopify, the platform the app runs on.
- Fly.io, which hosts the app on servers in the United States.
- Neon, which hosts the app’s database on Amazon Web Services in the United States.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it. If you are outside the United States, your store’s data is transferred to and stored there.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while Tagly is installed. When you uninstall it, Shopify removes the app’s access and we delete its access tokens. Shopify then asks us, 48 hours later, to delete your store’s data, and we delete everything we hold for your store at that point. Copies in our database provider’s short-term backups expire within 7 days. If you reinstall within 48 hours, your labels are still there.
To have your data deleted sooner, email hi@tackwell.space from your store’s account email.
Shopify privacy requests
We respond to the privacy requests Shopify sends on behalf of shoppers and merchants. Because Tagly holds no customer data, a shopper’s request to see or delete their data has nothing in it on our side.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA give you the right to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how it’s used. To do any of these, email hi@tackwell.space; we reply within 30 days. If you’re in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Security
All connections to the app are encrypted. The database is reachable only by the app and is encrypted at rest by our provider. Access to production systems is limited to the people who maintain the app.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your information, we tell merchants in the app or by email before it takes effect.
